Tanya Velishek has played a pivotal role in shaping Jordan’s landscape, both physically and culturally, since first being elected to the city council in 2008. Her leadership through the years has catalyzed significant infrastructural enhancements and community-focused initiatives.
Tanya led the Downtown Master Plan initiative in 2014, focusing on revitalizing Jordan’s core to make it more inviting for residents and businesses. This plan included infrastructure upgrades and beautification projects, culminating in a revitalized downtown that won regional accolades for its thoughtful design and community impact.
Under her leadership, Jordan saw enhancements in community facilities, including the development of new parks and sports facilities. She played a key role in developing a new baseball and softball field in collaboration with the Jordan School District, enhancing recreational opportunities for both the youth and the wider community.
Tanya has actively supported the Jordan Area Food Shelf, advocating for expanded services to meet the growing needs of the community, ensuring that vulnerable families have access to necessary resources.
